Attendance and & Leave of absence

  • Regular attendance is compulsory. 95% attendance is a norm. Exemption will be considered only for genuine medical or other reasons.
  • A student who is late or has been absent on the previous day without leave having been sanctioned must obtain permission of the class teacher/ Head before attending class.
  • Leave of absence requires prior sanction of the School authorities, except in the case of unforeseen illness or emergency.
  • A student who fails to apply for prior permission and is absent without a genuine reason will be fined at the rate of Rs. 100 per day.
  • Attendance at official school functions like Annual Day, Sports Day, etc. is compulsory.
  • For marriage within the immediate family, only ONE day's leave will be granted as a rule. Prior permission is needed along with the wedding card and information regarding the relationship with the student.

For absence due to illness

  • For 1 or 2 days - parents may fill the leave record in the School Diary.
  • For 3 days or more - an application in writing along with a medical certificate from registered medical practitioner must be submitted.
  • A student returning to School after suffering from an infectious or contagious disease should submit a doctor's fitness certificate.
  • Students must observe the prescribed period of quarantine before returning to class: Chicken Pox: 21 days, Measles: 21 days, Mumps: 21 days.
    Attendance on the first and last day of all vacations is compulsory, failing which the entire vacation will be considered as period of absence and Rs. 1500/- will have to be paid as fine.
    Request for leave before the last day of the vacation or extension of the vacation after the commencement of the School will be considered only in case of emergency.
    Absence on account of participation in any public show or competition during School working days requires prior permission of the Head.
    Please note that a written communication from the parent/guardian stating that his/her ward will remain absent from the School will not suffice.
    Grant of leave is the prerogative of the School and permission must be obtained.
    No student will be permitted to leave School during School hours except in case of any emergency or illness and with the written permission of the Head
    Repeated absence renders the student liable for dismissal. Contravention of these Rules will be regarded as a serious breach of discipline and may result in the student's name being struck off the rolls.
    Students with 100% attendance will receive a certificate.
